I love getting flowers, but with cats in the house, it's hard to keep flowers out in a place where I can see and enjoy them.

Usually when my husband gets me flowers, I have to stick them somewhere out of sight because my cats will try to eat them or knock over the vase. Well, one cat in particular, Gracie. She's the cutest little thing ever, but she is a devil cat. I love her, but she is a bad girl! Here she is looking adorable...and I bet 5 seconds after this photo was taken, she was destroying something.

Two nights in a row now, our house alarm has gone off because of her. The first night it happened just as I was falling asleep...she knocked something big over, which made a huge noise and somehow triggered the alarm. Then last night, my husband and I were at Target, and got alerts on our phones that the glass break sensor was going off. Well, that can't be good! So the alarm company calls us, we say we think it's a false alarm and carry on with shopping at Target. We get home a little while later, and I'm looking around, ahh, yes, the reason for the sensor? Gracie found my flowers on top of the fridge, knocked them off, smashing glass, water and flowers all over the floor.

Now, I have four cats, so how do I know it was her? Oh, trust me, I know because the other cats are good! One of them is afraid of her own shadow (Frances), so there's no way she'd do anything like that. The other two are mellow boys who never cause any trouble at all (Oliver & Jack)...and then I have my mischievous little Gracie-poo. She does stuff like this all the time, always causing trouble, so I know it was her.

So there goes my idea of keeping them on top of the fridge, still in plain sight for me to enjoy :(. In the past, I've kept them in the bathroom, in the office, or really any room that they don't go in, so I can keep them. But they are out of sight in those rooms, so I don't get to really enjoy them. I thought maybe, she wouldn't notice them on top of the fridge and they would be safe. Sadly, I was wrong.

So what do I do? I don't want to stop having flowers in the house, and I don't want to have to hide them either. I'm all out of ideas.
