A Dartmouth man crashed his car into the New Bedford Hurricane Barrier Sunday night.

New Bedford Police say the accident took place around 7:30 P.M. Sunday when the 45-year-old man suffered a medical emergency while driving and continued through the intersection of County Street and Cove Road, striking a fence and coming to rest on the stone wall of the hurricane barrier.

The man and his three passengers were all transported to St. Luke's Hospital with minor injuries.

The man's vehicle, a 2015 Audi Q5, was towed from the scene.

No charges are being sought against the driver.
