A new movie to hit Hollywood soon is doing most of its action scenes right up Route 24 in Brockton.

Untitled Detroit Project, directed by Kathryn Bigelow and written by Mark Boal is doing pretty much all their filming right here in Massachusetts.  Where you ask? Scenes are being shot in Dorchester, a few spots in Boston and the main set is taken place in Brockton though.

The movie itself is an American historical crime drama film and is based on the 1967 Detroit riot. The riot lasted 5 days and resulted in 44 deaths. It's known as one of the largest uprisings in United States history. The set was built in Brockton, MA depicting Detroit during that time period. They built the set right at the site of the Liberty Tree, it was put there in 1973 to mark the stop of the Underground Railroad.

Some of the cast consists of Massachusetts native John Krasinski (The Office), John Boyega (Star Wars: The Force Awakens), Will Poulter (We're the Millers), and Hannah Murray (Game of Thrones).

So for all you living in the Brockton area or travelling through it, don't be alarmed if you see smoke or hear firearms, it's just a movie being filmed and it's all fake... hopefully.
