It may be sunny today but swimmers on the cape need to be aware of riptides in the forecast.

According to Cape Cod Times, due to Hurricane Gaston down south there is rip tide conditions along the east and south-facing ocean beaches due to swells.

If you are swimming in the ocean make sure you are conscience of the conditions and know how to spot a rip tide. Some ways you can spot a rip tide is looking for a calm section between white-capped breakers, a patch of a different color water or debris rifting away from the shore rather than toward it.
