We’re in the thick of summer with the sun at its hottest, but even so, our favorite fashionable celebs are still turning up for events looking flawless and like they never break a sweat. This week’s winners were Selena Gomez, who was ravishing in red at the ESPYs, as well as Malin Akerman, who was bold in blue — but sadly, the lovely Vera Farmiga overdid it with a billowy black gown.

Here are the best and worst looks of the week.

The Best:

Selena Gomez

Sel wore a lacy Dolce & Gabbana frock from the beleaguered brand’s Fall 2013 line to the ESPYs. It showed off her legs and popped against her warm-toned skin. The three-quarter length bell sleeves were also a pretty touch.

Malin Akerman

The actress, who just had a baby, was resplendent in a blue mini from J. Mendel. The rich sapphire shade was a nice contrast to her blonde locks and that plunging neckline showed off a little side boob action.

Catherine Zeta-Jones

Mrs. Michael Douglas cut a sexy figure in her slinky Michael Kors dress, which was studded with hardware, crisscross straps and a slit. Hawt!

The Worst:

Vera Farmiga

The talented actress donned a voluminous black Viktor + Rolf gown with busy patterns on the bottom and top. It also had pockets and felt too full and too heavy for summer.

Rihanna

Granted, the pop star was casual and out and about, but what is this? Is she going commando? Her white mesh outfit was totally see-through and is like a tennis dress gone horrifically and tragically wrong.
