Thinking of getting out of town for Labor Day weekend? One app seems to think travel will be terrible this holiday. Here's the times to avoid.

The Waze app is giving you the low down on Labor Day travel based on how others traveled last year...and it seems to be telling you not to travel this holiday weekend.

Seriously, for Boston travelers if you're looking for times to avoid over the long weekend they say early travelers will likely see increased traffic on Wednesday and Thursday morning, though after 2 p.m. will be better.

On Friday most people will be heading out between 11 a.m. and 1 p.m., so if you are planning a trip starting Friday...leave extra early or fairly late.

Saturday and Sunday morning commutes look to be busy as well, according to Waze data from last year's holiday weekend.

And of course returning Monday will be messy pretty much all day. They suggest heading home before 10 a.m. or just staying where you are until Tuesday after 2 p.m.

And they expect next Tuesday to be the worst travel day of the week with accident potential jumping 18%.

Waze also used last year's data to report that police presence on the road will be increased all weekend, but mainly on Friday and Sunday.
