Whether you're pairing your brew with burgers and dogs or just enjoying an ice cold beverage on the deck after a long day, summer is the season of beer. And these are some of the beers I enjoy best when the weather warms up.

I don't know about you, but when it's hot out my taste in beer changes ever so slightly. Lighter, fruitier beers are always best in the summer season if you ask me.

So if you're trying to find the right seasonal beer for yourself, I have a few suggestions.

    Leinenkugel Summer Shandy

This may in fact be my favorite beer ever. Shandy means the beer is mixed with something else like soda, ginger ale or juice and the folks at Leinenkugel make a good one! Their summer shandy is a wheat beer mixed with lemonade flavor that makes it refreshing and incredibly tasty without any bitter beer after taste. Perfect alone or with your favorite cook out foods.

    Amstel Light Radler

Outside of the summer months, you'll typically find me sipping on an Amstel Light. I just love 'em. So when they introduced a lemon juice infused version of their signature beer, I was sold! Another delicious and refreshing brew perfect for BBQ season.

    Sam Adams Porch Rocker

You may start to notice a trend here, cause clearly I love the beer and lemonade mixes. Another delicious blend of the two is from Boston brewer Sam Adams and their Porch Rocker offering for the season. It is indeed perfect for sitting out on the porch on a summer night and sipping on a lighter beer. They say it also pairs nicely with seafood, so that might make it even more perfect for summers on the Southcoast.

    Bud Light Lime

I know it may seem silly to put Bud Light on my best summer beers list, but Bud Light Lime really is great for summers. It's light, refreshing and has that hint of fruit that I personally look for in my summer beers. Plus its something you'll find everywhere and can bring to almost any BBQ making everyone happy.

    Anchor Summer

But if you are looking for a fancier summer offering, out of San Francisco comes a wheat ale that actually doesn't mix in any fruit flavors. (I think it's the only one on this list!) It's still delicious and light and comes in a pretty cool looking bottle. Lots of reason to enjoy Anchor Summer this season.

    Narragansett Del's Lemonade Shandy

This beer is so very Rhode Island. Pairing the Narragansett Brewing Company with Del's Lemonade flavoring sounds insanely tasty! And it is! So tasty in fact that I hear since it debuted in early May stores can't keep it on the shelves. If you find it, grab it cause it's a local shandy that has to be tried this summer.
