A voluntary recall by Summer Infant is pulling 86,000 baby bathtub slings from shelves due to a drowning risk.

Summer Infant says the fabric slings attached to Lil' Luxuries Whirlpool, Bubbling Spa & Shower bathtubs, are missing a white plastic clip that connects the headrest area of the fabric to the side of the tub.

The lack of connection causes the material to slide down the side of the tub and can pose an injury or risk of drowning to the infant in the tub.

There have been over 90 reports of slings detaching with 11 of those reports including minor head injuries to the infant. No reports of serious injury or drowning have been reported.

The Lil' Luxuries Whirlpool, Bubbling Spa & Shower tubs were sold between October 2012 and October 2013 and have item numbers 18840, 18850, 18863 or 18873. The manufacture date of the item is listed as a four-digit code, with the two-digit year followed by the month, such as "1212" for December 2012.

Consumers with these tubs are advised to stop using them immediately and contact Summer Infant for a replacement fabric sling.

Details on obtaining a replacement sling are at summerinfant.com.
