The team's are filling up fast, but last night I think I saw my favorite audition from this season.

Sometimes the singers on The Voice can have a little too weepy of a back story for me. Maybe I'm not the most compassionate person on the planet, but I don't think knowing what a singer has been through is going to make their voice any more impressive to me.

That being said, I do give massive amounts of credit to the folks who audition for The Voice without any stage experience under their belts.

To get up in front of a live audience not to mention the four musical superstars waiting to judge you, that takes some serious guts and when you're performing for the first time on a stage like that and nail it, I am beyond impressed.

And that was how I felt with Jake Barker last night.

Though Barker has been posting video of himself singing in his room online, he has never actually had any performances in front of an audience, especially not the national audience that saw his Voice audition last night.

But even without the years of experience some of the other contestants come in with, he nailed it! His version of Bruno Mars' "When I Was Your Man" sounded fantastic and though it got a little busy in parts, really did show off all of the range he is capable of.

I was instantly a fan of his voice and am already looking forward to hearing what he does next.

Here's his audition in case you missed it
