It was a fantastic day at Buttonwood Park with lots of people coming out to support Cans Across the Park.

This year we collected 6,961 pounds of food to feed Southcoast families in need this Thanksgiving.

But we couldn't have done it without your donation and the generous giving from many local schools, churches, businesses and more...like Carter Brooks School who dropped off over 1,000 items of food! Plus Care One in New Bedford, The Adult Learning Center, Divine Massage, St. Mary's Church, Decas Cranberry, Residence Inn, Friendly Sons of Saint Patrick, Costello Real Estate and Insurance, Tony's Appliance and Silva & Company.

We also had help sorting and boxing up all that food from Girl Scout Troop 85062 in Fairhaven and the absolutely amazing students of Our Sisters School in New Bedford.

It was my first time actually getting to be onsite for Cans Across the Park and I can't wait to do it again next year!

Thanks to everyone who came out and donated! And if you didn't make it, check out some of today's fun!

Cans Across the Park for Hunger Heroes is sponsored by Fun 107, WBSM, St. Anne's Credit Union, Blount Soup Market & Company Store, Apollo Pools and Spa, DeMello's Furniture, Complete Care Care and the United Way of Greater New Bedford.
