Just when you thought you’d never get to walk the red carpet at an Oscars party, guess again!

Aviary Restaurant on GAR Hwy in Swansea is hosting Hollywood-like party dubbed The Aviary’s Oscars Red Carpet Party on Sunday February 28th from 5-8pm, which gives party goers plenty of time to get home and catch the broadcast on TV.

Dressing in designer gowns and suits is optional but encouraged. Last year, the party was well attended and most everyone dressed to the nines. It’s an excuse to get out of your normal day to day attire and put on a pretty dress and suit.

The Herald News says that Chef James Weare has created an Oscar-worthy menu with everything from fried brie and stuffed shrimp to angus beef sliders and smoked salmon tacos. The food at Aviary is said to be out of this world. So if that’s not reason enough to attend the Oscar Party, they’ll be dancing, plenty of time to meet and mingle. And of course a sweet ending to the party with movie-themed cupcakes, mocha cookie macaroons and sugar cookie Oscar statues created by pastry chef Jessica McCrohan.

After having worked with celebrity chef Wolfgang Puck in LA for several years, The Aviary Restaurants GM Pawl Gabrys told The Herald News he wanted to “bring a bit of Hollywood to Swansea.” And that’s exactly what he’s doing. For ticket info go you can find them on Facebook or visit
