Bristol, RI has been holding their annual Fourth of July celebration since 1785 and will continue this year with festivities that began on Flag Day, June 14.

While the first Patriotic Exercises began in the late 1700's, the actual parade is said to have started in the early 1800's and will commence Thursday morning at 10:30 a.m. following the Patriotic Exercises which begin at 8:30 a.m.

For those wishing to start their Fourth festivities early, join Billy Lord and the Band of Brothers for a Summer Music Concert Series tonight starting at 6 p.m. in Independence Park. Following the show, the annual fireworks spectacular will take place tonight, July 3, at 9:30 p.m. from Bristol Harbor.
