Starbucks owns 8,000 stores here in the U.S., and will close every one for a full day on May 29th.The company says it will use that day to train it's 175,000 workers about racial bias.

The announcement came this week after there was a public uproar over an incident that happened at a Starbucks in Philadelphia. Moneycnn.com reports that two black men entered the store to wait for friends. When they asked to use the bathroom, they were told no. When the men sat down without ordering anything, the manager called the police. The pair was then arrested for trespassing.

Since then, Starbucks CEO Kevin Johnson travelled to Philadelphia to personally apologize to the two men. He also said that the manager who called police is no longer with the company.
