AHA! New Bedford Presents 2016 Holiday Shop & Stroll

"Tis the season to go shopping, FA LA LA LA LA...LA LA..LA LA!"

Friday, December 2nd from 2-6 PM: "Jingle & Mingle Shopping Stroll"

Escape from the normal shopping routine this year and leave the super conglomerate shopping centers alone. If you're new to the area, you'll be surprised to know that most, if not all of your shopping can be done right here in the heart of Downtown New Bedford!

Instead of getting Mom or Dad something from a department store, perhaps you can make the gift more meaningful with a local twist. To make the shopping sweeter and more enjoyable, there will also be food tastings and holiday cheer throughout the downtown area in various shops and stores.

Jam out to Steel Pan music at 106 William Street outside of Alison Wells Fine Art Studio & Gallery from 4-5:30 and sip on complementary wine and beer samples (21+ Only), thanks to Buzzards Bay Brewing and Westport Rivers Vineyard & Winery. Alison Wells will be selling Art that makes for a unique and thoughtful present for all to enjoy!

-Maritime Music and Artisan Trunk Show = New Bedford Fishing Heritage Center (38 Bethel Street)

-The Zukes = The Zeiterion Theatre (Purchase Street), Hot cider will be served and the Box office will be open.

-Party For The Arts Fundraiser = New Bedford Art Museum/Artworks (608 Pleasant Street) from 6-9 PM. Spirits, appetizers, shopping and music will fill the air at this event.

Photos with Santa and Mrs. Claus. They will be arriving on a firetruck around Noon at Mare Studios & Gallery (27 Centre Street).
Firetruck rides with the New Bedford Fire Museum at Custom House Park Fountain.
Check out the New Bedford Farmers Market as well as Mass in Motion New Bedford at the Bristol Building.
Check out the very first Holiday Decorated window at the New Bedford Police Department.
Holiday Music with Art Tebbetts and Holiday Readings with "Your Theatre" at Cafe Arpeggio (800 Purchase Street.
The First Unitarian Church Annual Holiday Fair (Union & County Street) from 10am-2pm.
Gallery 65 will be hosting an opening for New Paintings by Claudine Metrick from 4-7pm and a Trunk Show featuring Jewelry by Gregg Harper from 11am-7pm (65 William Street).
Illustrated Children's Book readings of "The Ship of Dreams" by Dean Morrissey at 1pm, 2pm and 3pm at The Indigo Spa Company (26 South Water Street). Expresso and cider included.
The Lloyd Center will be hosting a "Hands-on Holiday project at the New Bedford Public Library (Pleasant Street).
Free family make-and-take crafts and the New Bedford Symphony Youth Orchestra at The New Bedford Art Museum/Artworks! from 1-3pm. (608 Pleasant Street)
Keith middle School 8th Graders Live Performance at 12:30pm and The Showstoppers at 2pm at The New Bedford Whaling Museum (18 Johnny Cake Hill).
The New Bedford Preservation Society Holiday House Tour will be present.

Celebrate The Seasons: Silver Screen Tablescapes at the Rotch-Jones-Duff House & Garden Museum (396 County Street).

Don't miss the Parade with the New Bedford Public Schools marching band as well as a tree lighting ceremony on the steps of the New Bedford Free Public Library at 5 pm. A community sing along will take place and Mayor Mitchell alongside the New Bedford City Councilors will be present.
