The Acushnet Creamery you know and love was demolished yesterday afternoon.

The old building was knocked down to make room for more parking at their brand new facility at the same location.

Donna and Doug Coray have been working for years to open the doors to their new building.

I asked Doug the million dollar question on every ice cream lover's mind, "When will you be opening this season?"

"We're waiting on final permits and paperwork, but we are hopeful to be open on March 28th," said Coray. "But don't hold me to it," he laughed.

Oh, we're holding you to it, Doug. We're holding you to it. I need my coffee chip ice cream with jimmies.
