This is not the first time this particular great white has visited the Cape Cod waters.  This very shark was tagged by scientist in 2011.

The GPS signal from the shark was picked up last week off Monomoy in the Chatham area.   Massachusetts shark scientists say those waters have been a hot spot for shark activity over the past couple of years.  They expect this great white and a few others will remain in that area for the rest of the summer.

There were several sightings last summer, and for the first time in decades, a swimmer was attacked.  He escaped with a severe bite on his leg.  The shark experts say it's the seal population off the Cape that attracts the great whites as they search for food.
