A 9-year old boy who had been saving up for a new PlayStation 4, decided to donated that money to purchase smoke detectors for his neighborhood.

After hearing a story about a mother and child who had perished in a fire, Hector Montoya sent the $305 he had saved so far to the Grand Prairie Fire Department and they were able to install 100 smoke detectors to homes that were not properly equipped.

According to the story from WCVB.com, a brother and sister heard Montoya's story and donated a PS4 to him along with $150 to keep his cause going. They also set up a GoFundMe page called Hector's Detectors.

Great job Hector! There should be more kids out there like you!
