7 Arrested After Weekend Shooting In New Bedford

Police are calling it a gang-related shooting.  It happened Saturday night on Beetle Street in New Bedford when a 55-year old man was shot and injured at him home.  He was reportedly hit in the back by a bullet that passed through the side of his body and went through a window.   The man was taken to Rhode Island Hospital in Providence.   Police believe he was not the intended target.  The shooters fled and broke into an apartment at 9 Bentley Street.  Police responded quickly and arrested 7 suspects and recovered 3 firearms.  Those charged range in age from 16 to 36.
