It's hot on the Southcoast, and it's gonna stay that way all weekend! One local town has a huge problem and are working to get it under control! Mattapoisett has 6 of their beaches closed today due to high levels of Enterococci bacteria found in water testing.

According to Southcoast Today, Antassawomak I, Shining Tides, Town Beach, Harbor Beach II, Crescent Beach and Neds Point are all closed to swimmers. Mattapoisett Health Agent Dale Barrows says the high levels of bacteria are due to the runoffs caused by excessive rainwater. The problem, which can be solved with a few tide changes, usually takes no more than a day to clear up. So don't worry, we should be good to cool off soon!
