5th Annual Grumpy’s Cranberry Harvest 5k Trail Run/Walk

On November 5th, 2016 the Cranberry Educational Foundation will be hosting the family friendly 5^th annual Grumpy’s Cranberry Harvest 5k Trail Run/Walk.

The Cranberry Educational Foundation is a non-profit organization dedicated to educational outreach to local communities.

The 5k trail run/walk is a family friendly event to raise funds and support their scholarship fund and other educational programs for local students. The Cranberry Educational Foundation gives out 3 $1,000 scholarships to students who are looking to major in agriculture, environmental science, or natural resources. The students have to live in Acushnet, Attleboro, Barnstable, Berkley, Bourne, Brewster, Bridgewater, Carver, Chatham, Dartmouth, Dennis, Duxbury, E. Bridgewater, Easton, Falmouth, Foxboro, Freetown, Halifax, Hanover, Hanson, Harwich, Kingston, Lakeville, Marion, Marshfield, Mashpee, Mattapoisett, Middleboro, Nantucket, New Bedford, New Braintree, Norfolk, Norton, Norwell, Orleans, Pembroke, Plymouth, Plympton, Raynham, Rehoboth, Rochester, Sandwich, Scituate, Sharon, Swansea, Taunton, Wareham, Wrentham or Yarmouth.

The event is held on a cranberry bog at the A.D. Makepeace company in Wareham, MA and is followed by a lunch catered by Harriet’s of Marion which is included in the registration fee. Great cranberry themed prizes for winners in both male and female categories are also given out.

The event starts at 9 am and t-shirts will be given to all participants.
