New Bedford and Mass State Police are searching for a New Bedford boy. Police told Fun 107 that the boy was sent to school this morning in a cab.  When he was dropped off at the Hathaway School, he was told by a woman that there was no school due to the Good Friday holiday.  According to that woman, the boy ran away towards the area of Tremont Street crying.

Police believed they had found the boy shortly before 10am, however it turned out to be the wrong child.

Mass State Police describe the boy as a 5 year old white boy wearing a green winter hat, a black jacket, and carrying a neon backpack.

Anyone who thinks they see the child or has information about him should call 911 immediately.  We will update you as we find out more information.
