According to Westport Police Department, officials received a call about a fire at Ferry Dairy Farm around 10 p.m. Friday night.

Westport PD reports that the fire originated in a smaller barn before spreading to two larger barns that were housing dozens of cows at the time.

Some of the dairy cows were saved while unfortunately, others perished in the fire.

According to the Westport Fire Department's Twitter page, the fire was still burning as of 4 a.m. this morning and they were in the process of clearing debris.
