Twin brothers set free a 22-pound lobster they bought for $210 at a fish market in Chatham this past Thursday.  Sadly, the lobster named Big Lobi after Red Sox player Big Papi, was found dead two days later.

According to the Cape Cod Times, brothers Chris and Jim Schmidt from New Jersey said they saw the giant lobster in the tank and asked about it.  They were told it had been in the tank for 3 weeks and they felt that was way too long.  They decided to buy the lobster and then set it free in Ryder's Cove in Chatham.

They had nothing but good intentions but unfortunately Big Lobi didn't make it.  The lobster was discovered on Saturday by Ray Wilkes, a Chatham resident who happened to be coming off his boat in Ryder's Cove, close to where the lobster was originally set free.

The moral to the story; don't pay $210 for a 22-pond lobster and then set it free :)
