Oceans 18 Family Fun Center and Body Works Gym & Spa will soon be closing their doors indefinitely.

On April 1, these two businesses--the last operating storefronts within the Fieldstone Marketplace--were served an eviction letter, hand-delivered by an officer of the New Bedford Police Department.

Store owners tell Fun 107 that when they inquired as to why they were being kicked out of the plaza, the police officer told them that no information could be given at that time.

The eviction notices came without warning to either business. They must vacate by May 15, but both operations plan to remain open for business until then.

Body Works informed Fun 107 that they will be pushing for a lawsuit and hiring a lawyer, citing that they have a three-year lease with the location. Ocean's 18 told Fun 107 they will not be pressing charges, and will soon begin selling most of their equipment and games on eBay.

Fun 107 also reached out to the New Bedford Police Department to find out any specifics about the eviction, but no further information has been released at this time.

We will update this story as more information becomes available.
