A group of dolphins were stranded in Wellfleet on Thursday near Powers Landing Beach.

The dolphins became trapped in shallow water with a receding tide. But a call to the International Fund for Animal Welfare brought rescuers to the scene with enough time to save all of them.

Moments from the rescue were captured on tape and show the IFAW transporting the dolphins from the beach to be triaged and prepared for transport to open waters.

It took two trips to get all 16 dolphins out to Barnstable for release into open waters.

One additional dolphin had to be rescued on Friday morning as well, but all of the dolphins made it back to the ocean and none were injured in the process.
